DA (=Design Abilities) is a global educational event that focuses on the "design ability" of hair designers.
DA-PHOTO WORKS- is a photo event with the purpose of pursuing originality through work creation.
It is an event designed to support designers on their continuous improvement in sensibilities through design creation, regardless of age and career.

What is “REALTIVE”?

A coined word derived from "REAL" and "CREATIVE," it represents the concept of design expression displayed by the designer’s creativity, while also adhering to the customer’s needs and current trends.

Creation Theme

A REALITIVE design with the creator’s signature look, similar to what they do at salons.

Judging Criteria
  • A natural look appropriate even for the model’s daily life
  • A design that expresses the stylist’s personality while capturing current trends
Category Restrictions

Since the model's daily natural look is used as the judging criteria,

  • creation should be made using model's hair, and use of wigs and hair extensions are prohibited.
  • excessive makeup on model is prohibited.
  • monochrome or sepia effects and CG effects to hairstyle are prohibited.
AVANT-GARDEAVANT-GARDE Category
What is “AVANT-GARDE”?

Originally, it is a French military term that means a small group of elite troops sent in advance.
However, it eventually began to refer to innovative art, and today it has become a general term for a Cutting-edge approach that denies established ideas and forms of art.

Creation Theme

Artistic and progressive design that does not get caught up in existing concepts and forms

Judging Criteria
  • Originality that has never seen before in the past.
  • Challenging new design concepts
Category Restrictions
  • You are free to use wigs, hair extensions, and hair accessories.
  • There are no restrictions on photo processing, including CG and image manipulation.
Schedule
  • * A new "Entry registration" has been set up to prevent missing confirmation of work application. Please note that those who have not completed the entry within the entry period will not be able to submit their work even before the application deadline.
  • * All the above schedule are in Japan time.
  • * Due to the system, we cannot accept any entries or applications that have passed the deadline.
  • * 1 "Final nominated works" and "regional outstanding works" will be published on the website on the following day
