LEE who won the second Grand-Prix after five times of challenges, passed Korea’s tournament, aiming for the first "Overseas Champion". LEE, who wants to pursue his own 「REALITIVE」 to create the "best fashion", will discuss his prospects for the future.

Ⅰ.The efforts done up to the DA area competition

--You were awarded the Grand Prix this time, so how many times did you participate?

It is the fifth participation including this one. Originally, I joined in to make my name more famous.

--What kind of things did you pay attention to in the area competition?

Unlike last time, I tried working together with a model who helped me in creating my works for the longest time. After all there is a part where we can understand each other without saying anything. Speaking exaggeratedly, as our hearts were connected, I could work on the most exciting tournament.

--Oh really. I guess you could say that it was like a part of your everyday life. So how did you capture the「REALITIVE」 theme of DA?

Recently, I feel that「REALITIVE」has more tendency towards creativeness. So I perceived that rather than making a sharp-edged salon-style, making creativity close to the salon-style is the theme.

--I see! Do you make the best use of the salon work while participating in the tournament?

Well, some people think that the contest is not connected to the salon work, but I think it's quite the opposite.

--When do you feel like that?

I think that the instantaneous force of sudden designs that show up unexpectedly and powerful planning are connected. The staff can feel this balance, and there is even some assistant staff that can come up with good designs. Also, by actually participating and producing results, the value increases and the customers evaluate it as something respectful. As a result, I started to be introduced to other people a lot and many customers of various genres started to come to me.

Ⅱ.About the artist's work

--I would like you to explain the style created at the area competition. First, the A panel.

I wanted to express the hair mainly in the A panel, so I paid attention to the three-dimensional effects, texture, and the movement of each string of hair.

--What about the B-panel?

I wanted to express my view of the world in the B panel, so I was able to make it relatively simple.

--How was the C model?

The model C was the model that had helped me in creating my works for the longest time. That's why I was able to decide on the length setting relatively easily. But I wanted to bring out a new side of the model, so I had some hard times at so some point.

--You had some struggles, but as a result, you were awarded the Grand Prix. Is there a part that you designed with particular attention?

It’s a thing I've been challenging myself for three years, I'm creating my works based on "the best fashion in minimal design" theme. In which I keep in mind the beautiful femininity and the beautiful hair cut styling for each string of the hair.

Ⅲ.Becoming the representative ofthe area

--Please share your feelings about winning the Area Grand Prix.

I took the Grand Prix in 2016, and then I fell into a slump, so I strongly wanted to win in 2018. When I got it, I was kind of relieved.

--Is there anything that you are thinking about or focusing on towards the Grand Prix Final?

I have nothing particular in mind. I will just be serious in my style and make the best fashion together with the model, stylist, and makeup artist.

--Please tell us your determenation

Since foreigners have not yet won the Grand Prix, I want to do my best this year and make Korea get it. I don’t know where my salon work goal is, but I think it would be good for me to keep walking without stopping and grow little by little every day.

--Oh really, please do your best! Thank you very much today.
